It has been a very busy year already, and I have not had as much chance to craft as I would like. May 25, 2010 - When is a Ring Not a Ring?

When it is a ruined (druid) ring! Or, um, something like that. Here is a momentary diversion while waiting for GU56 (hopefully in a few hours), an early sneak peek at a Druid Ring Rebuilding World Event that is expected to be released "soon".

UPDATE: The druid ring went live along with the patch this m*rning, so grab your T2 resources and head on up to the NW corner of Nektulos Forest to help rebuild the ring ... if you are not too busy exploring the Frostfang Sea and New Halas at the moment. It is a lot to take in at once, even for me, and I have been poking at this stuff longer than most of you! For those who need a copy of it, since the patcher still did not have the patch notes up when I checked a little while ago, here are the GU56 Patch Notes

Yes, I (now) know something is wrong with the forums. Mind you, I am clueless as to how to fix them, but I am aware that they are ill. Hopefully the hubbyogre can beat them into submission when he gets home, if it is not something serverside that is being reset already.

Meanwhile, this is a good time to remind folks that the Moonlight Enchantments Event starts in a few hours.

May 14, 2010 - Will a Tub Be ok Instead of the Kitchen Sink?

The old phrase "Everything but the kitchen sink" comes to mind when trying to corral all the information regarding GU56 that will interest crafters or decorators. While not quite the kitchen sink, there are oodles of goodies for folks, including a very nice tub!

First came the New Halas Housing Preview, which was soon followed by the New Halas Starter Home Tour (which even later had housing price information added to it). After that, I gave you a taste of GU56 Travel Changes. While folks were looking that over, I was also putting together a sneak peek at house items from the Epic Icy Keep instance. Not content to let it end there, I have cobbled together a list of Buyable New Halas Furniture, along with promises that I will tweak the images a bit after I get caught up some more.

The fun does not end there, however, as I am currently freezing my bare feet off out in Frostfang Sea, running through all the new quests once again in order to get you details on New Halas House Items from Adventuring. I will be adding to that article later today, and likely through the weekend.

None of the above counts as the main GU56 Crafting and Housing Preview, however, but are just bits and pieces that spun off as that main preview grew out of control.

May 12, 2010 - Busy, Busy!

I know, I know, I promised some more GU56 goodness before this. Not only have I been feeling under the weather, but there is enough to write about that I am having to work on it in chunks. To keep the masses happily chewing on new information, here is the (rough) first draft of the travel change information that is coming with GU56. Please ignore the link at the top of that article for the master preview - it is not even close to finished yet, and I have a chiropractor visit and other fun things to get through before I can go back and finish it.

It is once again time for the monthly city festival! This month, the traveling faire is outside of Freeport. If you are a native of the area, head from Freeport out to the Crossroads and hang a right. For those flying in from further away, head due east from the wizzie spires, and you'll find the festival set up outside of the crossroads, just out of reach of the crossroads guards.

April 29, 2010 - This & That

I have updated the Crafting & Event Calendar with the known events for May (I will add the GU launch date when it is announced). If you find any errors, please let me know, as it is easy to slip when adding that much in by hand.

Meanwhile, I am working on the research and testing that goes into the GU56 and New Halas preview, and should have something up by Monday. (I am hoping for one more patch over there before I finalize the article.) If you want to find out more details regarding what is contained in this huge update, you will find Test patch notes in the Test Server News/Notes forum here on the site. (So far, this includes the April 23 and April 27 Test patch notes, and any other GU56 patch notes from Test will be added as we see them.) There is a lot covered in the notes, and somewhere in there, you might even find something having to do with this ...

April 07, 2010 - Patch Stuff

There are a few tradeskill-related items that went in with the patch this morning:

• Balanced Ayr Stones are now Adornments of Avoidance (Superior). They grant Riposte Chance and can only be applied on Neck slot items.
• Focused and Specialist’s Reprieve potions can no longer be auto-consumed.
• Stats on the Di’Zok Bow of Flame, Riliss Chicken Foot, and Danak Wishbone have been adjusted to be more useful to all the classes that can use these items.
• Changed the appearances on many brawler fists so they have a different appearance other than the standard spike bronze pot!

Also, a reminder that the Qeynos City Festival ends tonight. Get your white marble goodies while you can!

April 02, 2010 - Goodies for the Weekend

Firstly, another Double Station Cash weekend has been announced. Buy the Free Realms branded Station Cash cards and claim them between Friday 4pm PST and Sunday 11pm PST and you'll get DOUBLE the face value in your wallet - this Station Cash can then be spent in any SOE game tied to your account.

Secondly, a bit of New Halas lore has been released on the eq2players site. Check it out here.

Thirdly, keep in mind that the Qeynos City Festival is running through April 7, and the main Bristlebane Day stuff is running through April 11. (edit: fixed date - fingers walked away without me :P) If you lose track of the dates, our calendar will be happy to remind you. :D

April 01, 2010 - Events!

The City Festival for this month is located just outside of Qeynos and will be located there through April 7. Special 1-day-only Bristlebane Day happenings are also seen in Enchanted Lands today with special nodes yielding special crafting ingredients from other Norrathian holidays. (The 1-day part only pertains to the special EL nodes, Frostfell equipment and such. As mentioned before, the rest of the Bristlebane Day stuff is running through April 11.)

March 30, 2010 - Bristlebane Day Celebrations!

The Grand Prankster is on the loose, and Jesters Gardens have sprouted in various locations. So, why not pick up the recipe book, harvest some gardens, and dive into a bit of Bristlebane Day Crafting? If you get involved in the crafting, be on the lookout for the Grand Pranksters Mischief event (effect pictured above) for an extra reward as well!
