Scars of Destruction - Stealthy Supplies

This quest guide was written by Whilhemina of the French-language EQ2 Artisans site.

November 20, 2024 sees the release of EverQuest II's latest expansion, Scars of Destruction. It adds two new zones, taking you to the remaining archipelago on the Odus coast and to Western Wastes.

Important note: the crafting timeline requires you to have completed the previous expansion, Ballads of Zimara.

The reason for this is that the W.H.O.O. used there is also used in SoD, so logic dictates that you should already have used this item.

Needless to say, Erud's Crossing isn't the happiest place on earth...

Shopping list

Note on resources: there are no harvest obligations except for repeatable quests, so you'll need to bring your components. The list below includes the resources needed to work on faction via crafting only. Components for the Mermaid quest are in parenthesis.

Crafting tables and fuel

You'll find a crafting table at 23, 5, 353 next to Ameela, and Kassa will sell fuel at 29, 6, 361 for Sodden Archipelago.

The crafting table is at 62, 10, 586 and Yodena Smeltfury, at 66, 11, 580 , will sell fuel for Western Wastes.

Sodden Archipelago quests

NPC : Ameela Ziad (Sodden Archipelago, 30, 6, 353 )
Quest: Stealthy supplies: W.H.A.T.? (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Shield, Status coin +75 000)

A letter titled "Need for a Skilled Crafter" from the Open Hand will warn you that strange things are happening on what was the ancient Odus coast before it moved to Ultera, and that your skills are needed. Use a bell to reach Sodden Archipelago.

Talk to Ameela Ziad, in the house opposite the docks (30, 6, 353). She's delighted that you're the artisan she's been waiting for, as adventurers are causing trouble. The locals are at the mercy of the Blackhook orcs, who once possessed Tarinax's soul, which someone is trying to recover. This soul would make it possible to reach Western Wastes, that are not as destroyed as everyone thought, and could contain dragon bodies and artifacts.

Your first mission will be to develop a W.H.A.T. (Wonderful Harvesting and Traveling Object), based on the Hooluks' W.H.O.O..

This is just a first attempt to see if the recipe works in the region. To test it, you'll have to go to an old kappa hut (humanoid creatures with turtle shells) that the locals don't want to talk about.

NPC : Ameela Ziad (Sodden Archipelago, 30, 6, 353 )
Quest: Stealthy Supplies: Meet and Greet (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Scissors, Crafter's Makeshift Knitting Needle, Status coin +75 000)

While Ameela works on making your magic hand a little less flashy, she sends you off to find out what the villagers might need. It seems Ismara needs knitting needles, so you could make her some.

She's found a way to adjust the W.H.A.T. to take account of the Ulteran magic saturating the area. You'll need to add a sample of plant and water to the recipe.

NPC : Polonia (Sodden Archipelago, 20, 5, 373 )
Quest: Meet and Greet: Flavorful Food (reward: +1000 Port Woe)

Help feed the adventurers.

It's clam time!

NPC : Ismara (Sodden Archipelago, 88, 55, 307 )
Quest: Meet and Greet: Knitting? Netting? (reward: +1 000 Port Woe)

It's time to fix your mistake.

Once you've reached 20,000 Port Woe faction, talk to Wilfric (-90, 9, 343 ).

Signature Line Continued

NPC: Ameela Ziad (Sodden Archipelago, 30, 6, 353 )
Quest: Stealthy supplies: Rescue (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Pliers, Status coin +75 000)

Unfortunately, while you were away, some adventurers were captured by the Blackhooks. Your mission is to find them with your W.H.A.T. and cause a distraction so they can escape.

NPC: Captain Raffik (Sodden Archipelago, -118, 6, 399 )
Quest: Stealthy supplies: The Crafty Wanderer (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Ladle, Status coin +75 000)

Captain Raffik awaits you at the end of the docks with his boat, the FSSD Crafty Wanderer. Raffik is happy to help the craftsmen who have helped him in the past. The adventurers you've rescued need to get to Velious and will need the help of craftsmen.
You must obtain a crate of vital resources from Kassa. If it's not ready, take that opportunity to get ready for the cold.

Faction Quests

NPC: Garron (Sodden Archipelago, -31, 5, 358 )
Quest: Stocking the Wanderer: Salted Fish (reward: +2 000 Port Woe)

Salted fish. Why should we talk and say polite things, eh?

NPC: Grimar (Sodden Archipelago, -30, 5, 370 )

You'll have to stockpile resources for the trip.

NPC: Zolea (Sodden Archipelago, -59, 9, 373 )
Quest: Stocking the Wanderer: Bundles and Bedding (reward: +2 000 Port Woe)

Gather fabric and skins to make sleeping bags and tent.

NPC: Barsten (Sodden Archipelago, -76, 6, 363 )
Quest: Stocking the Wanderer: Crating it up (reward: +2 000 Port Woe)

You'd have to prepare crates to replace the ones you'll take.

NPC: Dunstad (Sodden Archipelago, -75, 6, 335 )
Quest: Stocking the Wanderer: Shelter Supply (reward: +2 000 Port Woe)

Tent pegs and ropes should be prepared.

Once you've reached 50,000 Port Woe faction, buy the Vital Supplies from Kassa and continue the signature by going to see Raffik.

Signature Line Continued - Western Wastes

NPC: Captain Raffik (Sodden Archipelago, -118, 6, 399 )
Quest: Stealthy supplies: Flotsam and Jetsam (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Drill, Status coin +75 000)

Have you prepared everything? Yes ? You can talk to Raffik now.

NPC: Captain Raffik (Western Wastes, 76, 7, 661 )
Quest: Stealthy supplies: Base Camp (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Clamp, Crafter's Makeshift Smithing Hammer, Status coin +75 000)

Raffik, the captain without a ship, mourns his beautiful ship. The totem was powerful, but the draconic magic was even more so and smished the boat.
I hope you have room in your bags, because you're going to have to craft a lot of replacement items.

NPC : Mesmer Gearloose (Western Wastes, 70, 7, 642 )
Quest: Stealthy Supplies: Clockwork Creations(reward: Crafter's Makeshift Dough Flipper, Status coin +75 000)

The Sovereign has stolen his Magika Machina Magnifica, into which he has poured all his heart and soul (!!!) and which is now being used in the dragon necropolis. If you're able to follow instructions, even if you don't understand them (he's not ashamed!), you can help him create disruptive mechanisms to stop his machine. You'll need 3 in case they don't work, given your skills! One ingredient will ask you to go and see a mermaid "somewhere." You wouldn't want him to help you on top of everything!

NPC: Nazeera (Western Wastes, 146, 9, -421 )
Quest: Equitable Exchange: Scholar/Outfitter/Craftsman (reward: 3 Mesmeric Shell Powder , Status coin +75 000)

Depending on your archetype, you'll have different objects to make before giving them to Nazeera, who thinks your work is brilliant.

NPC: Captain Raffik (Western Wastes, 76, 7, 661 )
Quest: Stealthy Supplies: Runechase (reward: Crafter's Makeshift Helmet, Petamorph Wand: Magic Vine Hand, spell W.H.A.T. Ultimate, 3 Status coin +100 000, ability to fly in the expansion)

Return to Raffik, whose crew is, fortunately, in good health. He tells you that the Kromzek giants may have found a way to deactivate the barrier around Western Wastes. Your W.H.A.T. may enable you to track them down and find out what their idea is (W.H.A.T. is not mandatory).

This character now has access to Ledat's daily crafting missions (75, 7, 659 ), giving you research time reduction and status. You'll need to collect components and craft items for the camp.

The research assistant for advanced recipes is unlocked for all crafters on your account. Researcher Aushta can be found in Sodden Archipelago, in the crafting hut (16, 5, 370 ).
