Kicking the Bird Out of the Nest

Since we've yet to find a good writeup on the quest, we've cobbled together a quick bit about the tradeskill portion of this quest based out of an instance in the Barren Sky.

Zone: The Nest of the Great Egg, (Whisperwind Isle in the Barren Sky)
Quest Name: "Kicking the Bird Out of the Nest".
Recommended Level: solid group of 60-somethings
Required Tradeskilling level: 65+ (any tradeskill)
Reward: One of several No Trade recipe books, each with 2 recipes in it, requiring a rare drop off a named mob in that zone. All items must be crafted using the specific equipment in that zone.

Basic Information

In the Nest of the Great Egg on Whisperwind Isle, once you climb down, then walk forward into the first main room, you'll find a room immediately to the right where the vultak and hooluks are fighting. Inside that room are several nonagro hooluk NPCs, as well as "a magical Hooluk loom" and "a magical Hooluk workbench". In the far right corner of the room is the NPC, Kit Oo'loh, that will give the repeatable quest "Kicking the Bird Out of the Nest."

Upon killing that rather unfriendly overgrown necro buzzard at the top of the zone, Chamberlain X'Haviz, you can complete the quest and be rewarded with a recipe book, that you choose from a list. Of course, there's a lot of agro birdbrains between you and the Chamberlain, so be prepared to make a lot of feathers fly on your way up to him!

Parts is Parts

The main ingredients for these recipes come from named mobs in the zone, such as "The Taskmaster's Gullet", "The Chamberlain's Flayed Skin," "The Kettleleader's Preserved Corpse," and "The Counselor's Head". Sadly, the drops are not all that common, and it is likely you'll need to make more than one visit to this zone before anyone in your group has any item to craft with.

We're still gathering a few nigglies before putting it all in the database, but here's what we do know.

Down & Dirty Recipes

All combines can be performed by anyone who is level 65 or higher in any tradeskill, and the finished products are tradeable. Again, these combines can only be performed on the special tradeskill equipment inside this zone. All will be level 65 recipes. Items are legendary, attuneable:

Other Nigglies

The books are no drop.
  • The drops required as primary ingredients are tradeable.
  • The items made are tradeable.
  • The tradeskill process MUST be completed to pristine in order to obtain the finished product (primary component returned on failure to create pristine).
  • There is an 18-hour lockout timer on the zone once you kill any named mob within the zone.
  • These combines require what we refer to as cross-skill abilities, such as binding and geomancy. As of LU24, these skills auto-increase based on your current primary tradeskill ability cap.

Please post to this thread in the Tradeskill Quests forum if you can provide any further details for us.
