Beast'r Eggstravaganza 2023

Is it just me, or does this Eggschanger in New Halas have a "Spring? What spring?" look on his face?

Spring has sprung(?) and with it comes a small celebration of spring, the season of Growth. This celebration, called Beast'r, begins on all servers (including Kael and Varsoon) on April 7, 2023 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific and ends at 11:59 p.m. on April 13, 2023.

This year's event includes 7 new items and a new collection.

A Bit of Background

Since this is an extremely short-duration annual event, you may want to become familiar with it before it begins.

The basic premise of this little event is that there are beast'r eggs hopping around the cities and starter areas in Norrath, and you get to try to hunt them down and grab them. If you manage to grab one, you get an heiroom fluff pet "gem" (scroll) of the egg. There are also "Beast'r Eggschanger" NPCs in Qeynos Province District (Elddar Grove area), Freeport, Darklight Wood, Greater Faydark, Timorous Deep, and Frostfang Sea. Eggs that were introduced in past years return this year and can also be traded in for house pet versions of the eggs.

In addition to the buyable housepets, the Beast'r Eggschangers sell a few other items for small amounts of coin. You will also find a dryad NPC near the Beast'r Eggschanger in Darklight Wood that will grant you the start of small overseer series of quests that will only be available during the event.

New Buyables

These items will be for sale on "Beast'r Eggschanger" NPCs in Qeynos Province District (Elddar Grove area), Freeport, Darklight Wood, Greater Faydark, Timorous Deep, and Frostfang Sea, but there's a catch. The Snow Hare fluff pet and the Beast'r Basket of Chocolike Sweets will only be sold on the "evil" side (Freeport, Darklight Wood, Timorous Deep), and the Soot and Smoke Kitten fluff pet and the Tan Beast'r Basket of Sweets will only be sold on the "good" side (Qeynos, Greater Faydark, Frostfang Sea). This doesn't stop a good aligned person from going to Timorous and buying the corrupted one, or an evil alt from hitting up Frostfang Sea, for example. It just means you'll be doing a little traveling if you want the full set. (You will want to do some traveling anyway if you want to complete the new collection, so keep that in mind!)

*As mentioned above, the Snow Hare fluff pet and the Beast'r Basket of Chocolike Sweets will only be sold on the "evil" side (Freeport, Darklight Wood, Timorous Deep), and the Soot and Smoke Kitten fluff pet and the Tan Beast'r Basket of Sweets will only be sold on the "good" side (Qeynos, Greater Faydark, Frostfang Sea) vendors.

Protip:

While asking a guard for "Beast" worked in the past to sometimes chase down the loose eggs, it will have even more mixed results this year. Not only will they point to the nearest loose egg, but if someone has out one of the egg fluff pets or the Mischievous Beastie familiar from the Anchorage quests you will end up pointed to them if they are closer. Asking them for "Eggschanger", however, will help you find the vendor if you're in one of the six above-listed zones.

New Collection

There is one new 9-piece collection this year. As was the case for the original collection, which is also available this year, you will need to visit multiple locations in order to obtain all the collection pieces. Reward for the collection is a Large Stained Glass Beast'r Egg Basket.
