Butcherblock Mountains Level 20 Crafting Quests

Once you become a level 20 crafter, you will receive an email telling you to head over to the Butcherblock Docks to help out. (You don't need to receive that email in order to do the quest, it just helpfully points you in the right direction.) Those who were already above level 20 when this quest went in can simply head on over to talk to Cordelia whenever they want.

Seek out Cordelia Galeston from the Far Seas Supply Division on the Butcherblock docks for a crafting quest series for level 20+ crafters (any alignment). Among other goodies that you will get doing this questline will be a 130% ground speed grey mustang pack horse mount with some harvesting bonuses, recipes for a neat turtle-shell appearance shield, Far Seas Supply Division faction and tokens, several tier 3 rares of your choice, and the ability to buy your advanced level 20-29 crafting recipe books. (She will sell them on the docks, once you finish the questline.)

Remember that there's a banker and broker on the BBM docks. Should you not be able to find the fuels that you need (some are sold down on the docks near the appropriate equipment, some are sold up at the Highland Outpost), there is a bell at the end of the docks, and it is a fast round-trip to the Gorowyn, Kelethin or Mara crafting area and vendors.

Shopping List

You will need the following items for these quests:
  • 5 belladonna root
  • 28 ash lumber
  • 5 rough agate
  • 14 carbonite cluster
  • 10 boiled leather pelt
  • 15 sparkling incense
  • 39 sparkling sandpaper
  • 30 sparkling coal

A Binding Contract

Did you know that you smell like craft? That's the word from Cordelia Galeston on the Butcherblock Mountains (BBM) dock when you hail her as a level 20 or higher crafter. Unsurprisingly after that odd greeting, you find out that she's got work for willing crafters.

The Far Seas Supply Division (FSDD) is trying to set up good trade relationships in the area, and it just so happens that the dockmaster has need of some repairs to a book that was damaged by aqua goblins. She hands you instructions (Do-It-Yourself Tome Repair for Beginners, which scribes into the recipe Tome Repair), tells you that there's an engraved desk to the west, and the damaged book (Damaged Tome, and 2 Torn Tome Page) is on the crate beside her. You will also need 3 sparkling incense, which can be purchased from Tyla Maki if you didn't bring any with you.

Reward is a small amount of coin, tradeskill XP, AA XP, faction with the FSSD and a Far Seas Trading Company Token.

For the Greater Goods

Cordelia says that the Highland Outpost is being hit hard by all the kobolds, and is hoping you can whip up some Kobold Bane spells to deal with the furry problem. She will hand you the recipe book "Kobold Bane for All Occasions", which you will need to scribe to put the recipe Kobold Bane Spell in your recipe book.

You will need to create 5 of the scrolls, and each one will require: 1 belladonna root, 1 ash lumber, 1 rough agate, and 3 sparkling incense.

Return to Cordelia for 1 Far Seas Trading Company Token, +4000 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, +5000 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, and a small dribble of coin.

Freelance Fletcher

Cordelia appreciates your work, and offers another task, if you are so inclined. Not only do they have tasks of their own, but they also help the locals with various requests as they want the Far Seas Supply Division (FSSD) to be the first choice for trade goods anywhere in Norrath.

One such request has just arrived from the Highland Outpost, for a customer who wants special arrows crafted with her ingredients. You are given the recipe scroll "Ninoin's Custom Arrow Specifications" as well as 5 kragploom feathers and 5 obsidian arrowheads. (You will need to provide 5 ash lumber and 15 sparkling sandpaper.) You are also told that you can use the woodworking table up at the Highland Outpost and that Cordelia will meet you up there. Take the nearby griffin up to the outpost, and if you've forgotten your sandpaper, there is a vendor, Trader Whitlock, who will be happy to sell you some.

Scribe the recipe scroll and create five of the Customized Arrows. Then speak with Cordelia, who should be now up at the Highland Outpost, for your rewards.

Rewards: your choice of a T3 rare, 2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, coin, and a Far Seas Trading Company Token.

Turning Turtle

It seems that the local dwarves have been making armor out of the shells of the local beetles. Cordelia thinks that the armor would be more effective if you used the shells from the turtles down on the beach. Will you help her test out her theory? She provides you with a recipe scroll called Turtle Shield Sketches (which scribes into the recipes Turtle Shell Mageshield and Turtle Shell Buckler), and tells you that there are turtle shells on the table beside her (you will need 4).

You will need to craft two each of the Turtle Shell Mageshield and Turtle Shell Buckler, which means you will also need 4 carbonite cluster, 4 ash lumber, and 12 sparkling sandpaper. You will not only get to keep the tradeable shields, but you also get to keep the recipe (you'll need to grab more shells from the desk where you got the original shells when you wish to make more)

Rewards: your choice of a T3 rare, 2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, coin, and a Far Seas Trading Company Token.

The Bear Essentials

It seems a local trapper keeps giving Cordelia bear teeth and claws, and she thinks she has a recipe that might be able to use them up. Can you try making a few Carved Bear Charms from them? She hands you the recipe book "Book of Basic Bear Charms", as well as some bear claws and bear fangs. You will need to craft four charms, and will need to provide a total of 4 ash lumber and 12 sparkling sandpaper.

Rewards: Your rewards this time are a bit more solid! +2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, coin, and a Grey Mustang Pack Horse.

And why is she giving you a pack horse? The are grateful for the help that you are providing, but also she is hoping that you can go give her colleague Bartleby a bit of help over in West Fort Irontoe. So, you get to head over there, while she heads back to her original spot on the docks to watch for incoming trade ships.

Dwarven

Bartleby Blatherback might have a tongue-twisting name, but he's got a good eye for craftsmanship. He recognizes the saddlebags on your new mount as being Cordelia's handiwork and greets you gladly. Things have been really hopping at West Fort Irontoe, as the Irontoe Brigade recognizes the usefulness of the FSSD supplies. He's got lots to do, and is glad of an extra helping hand.

First off is a task to collect discarded weapons from just outside the fort's walls. Not only might he be able to repair some of them for reuse, but he'd rather that the enemy didn't get their hands on them. Gather up five of them for him.

Rewards: Your choice of a T3 rare, 2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, and coin.

Alternate Assayer

The FSSD is hoping to trade for some of the ore from the Mortartoe Mines ... if it meets their quality standards. Could you get some samples from the mine (the entrance is right there in the fort), and ask a foreman for a copy of their quality reports? Head into the mine, find 6 "loose Mortartoe ore sample" nodes to mine, then search out a "Mortartoe Mine foreman" with a quest book over their heads. Return to Bartleby with the samples and the report for your reward.

Rewards: Your choice of a T3 rare, 2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, and coin.

Smith-On-The-Spot

It seems a shipment from the FSSD to the fort have been lost in transit, and some of the supplies are desperately needed. While they're waiting on a fresh shipment, can you help Bartleby craft the most important supplies? He hands over the recipe book "Irontoe Favorite Battleaxe Recipe", which you will scribe for the Irontoe Battleaxe recipe. You will need to craft 10 of the axes, which will also need a total of 10 carbonite cluster, 10 ash lumber, 10 boiled leather pelts, and 30 sparkling coal.

Rewards: Your choice of a T3 rare, 2500 faction with the Irontoe Brigade, 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, and coin.

Good Ore Bad?

Bartleby has one final task for you. It seems the colleague that is very good at assessing ore quality is in Gnomeland Security in Steamfont Mountains. Can you deliver some samples to Karalyn Cinderton for her to assess?

Rewards: 500 faction with the Far Seas Supply Division, tradeskill XP, AA XP, coin and a Far Seas Trading Company Token.

What Next?

If you are below a level 30 crafter at this point, you are done for now. If, however, you are level 30 or higher, Karalyn Cinderton will be happy to offer you the start of the Steamfont Mountains Level 30 Crafting Series.

In either case, you may now return to the BBM docks to purchase your level 30-39 advanced recipe books from Cordelia.
