We are hitting the time when events are overlapping on the Test server (and soon to be overlapping on the live servers as well!). First up is a quick look at the 2023 Chronoportals Phenomenon celebrating the anniversary of EverQuest. Soon (TM) I will also have a writeup ready for Brewday, which just hit the Test server, but it may take a couple days.

February 15, 2023 - Patch Goodness

The patch notes for today are large and intimidating. To make it easier, here are the items that impact crafters and decorators:

• Broker auto-unlist time increased to the next server restart after 28 days of being listed.
• The house will now remember the new position of the moving crate after using the /summon_movingcrate command.
• Corrected the name of Recipe: Enlivened Maul of the Sandswept Delta to reflect the product.
• Acrylia, Hua Jubilee, Shadowscream, and Void Etched mount equipment that give crafting bonuses now restrict based off of tradeskill level instead of adventure level.
• Corrected the stat values on the Renewal of Ro Coating, Injector, Insight, and Stratagem temporary adornments.
• Players creating love letters and love poems will no longer have the game speaking like a halfling, telling them that they're making letterses and poemses, Precious.
• The level 77 Woodworker writ and rush order will now ask for "Redwood Harvesting Kit" instead of "Compact Redwood Harvesting Kit"
• The following tradeskill rewards will no longer be able to be sold or transmuted: Cloak of the Harvester, Mark of the Far Seas, Girdle of the Vigilant, Armlet of Ethernere, ____'s Planar Adventures
• The sage recipes for Hizite snacks have been adjusted to be more in line with the previous expansion and will use fewer rares.
• The crafted desert music boxes now have more appropriate icons.The recipe name and item name for Beryllium Idol is now spelled correctly.
• Corrected an issue that prevented Advanced Ensorcelled Badlands, Advanced Takish, Advanced Delta recipe volumes from dropping from Renewal of Ro [Heroic III] boss encounters.

February 13, 2023 - Global Downtime Warning: Feb. 15

I mistakenly posted that Erollisi Day would start on February 2. Sorry about that! The 2023 Erollisi Day will begin on February 9.

January 22, 2023 - Erollisi Day on Test

Erollisi Day is on the Test server and I managed to whip up a small preview of the new things arriving with this yearly event. This event will go live on February 2, 2023 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific.

January 13, 2023 - EQII Housing Deals Over the Weekend

Proof that Friday the 13th is not all bad! There is a housing sale in EQII from now until 12:50 pm Pacific on the 16th featuring 20% off all houses and house items on the Marketplace. These deals will only last for a couple of days, so grab them while you can!

January 07, 2023 - Desert Music Boxes

The Raj'Dur Plateaus researcher will unlock the Desert Music Boxes recipe book next week. Since there is no other way to preview the music before you obtain the music boxes, here is a video that was made during beta that plays each of the eight tunes.

While on a valiant quest to help the Aerakyn return to their original thread of reality, adventurers find themselves going back to the brutal island of Ro and to the southern half of the flaming desert. Here, with the help of a local tribe of Hizite nomads, they’ll make their way across the unforgiving Raj’Dur Plateaus to explore what is left of the Elddar Empire's cursed city, the long Buried Takish'Hiz, before finding themselves within the renewed Takish Badlands as they are led into the treacherous Sandstone Delta by the machinations of a notorious foe.

They will come face-to-face with Raj'Dur bandits, cursed Elddar, Dunetooth goblins, the Mhyt-moo school of Yha-lei, the Stormfury and Swordfury cyclops clans, the Ortallian zealots of Ro, and other enemies, not to mention the glorious heroes they will team up with along the way. Unravel the mystery behind newly discovered magic, hidden within the sand and buried amidst the ancient stone. Come together with other heroes and begin the journey, in search of the clues that lead you on your path to new forms of power.

November 28, 2022 - Frostfell on Test and Other Notes

Frostfell 2022 is currently on the Test server and will be available on other servers after the December 6 patch.

The Renewal of Ro expansion will go live this Wednesday! I cannot do an article for it until the expansion has gone live, but know that I have almost 150 screenshots ready and waiting for me to code them up once I am allowed to post.

This also means that the Renewal of Ro Prelude Event, Secrets of the Sands will be ending with the downtime this Wednesday, November 30, so grab your collectibles while you can! The buyable house items WILL be available, but they will be located out in the expansion zones, so if you will be unable to access those zones, make sure to get your shopping in now!

November 17, 2022 - Renewal of Ro Launch Date Announced

It has just been announced that the Renewal of Ro expansion for EverQuest II will launch at noon Pacific on November 30, 2022. Are you ready to head into the wastelands?

November 08, 2022 - Mount and Extra Life Bonuses

Happy 18th anniversary, EverQuest2! The mount pictured in my November 4 post is now available on the city mount vendors for everyone to snag. Please remember that you only have through November 22 to claim yours.

In-game bonuses are now live due to the phenomenal outpouring of support for our Extra Life charity fundraiser. Here is the message from the official forums:

Thanks to your incredible generosity and mind-blowing participation in this year’s Extra Life efforts to raise money for Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego, close to the largest in-game benefits in the history of EverQuest II have been earned and are now unlocked. November 04, 2022 - Heroes Festival Update - Free Mount!

The Heroes' Festival has a special surprise for us this year, with a free mount for everyone. The only catch is that you must visit a city mount merchant between November 8, 2022 and November 22, 2022. November 03, 2022 - Heroes Festival 2022

The celebration of the annual EQ2 anniversary, Heroes' Festival 2022 will begin on November 4, 2022.

There is also a HUGE in-game promotional event happening next week, with bonus experience, bonus loot and more. How huge it is will depend on how much Team Darkpaw raises for the Extra Life charity by mid-day on November 7. Check out the incentive details here.

October 04, 2022 - NoTD on Test and Expansion Beta

The annual Nights of the Dead is now available for testing on the Test server. It will go live on October 13.

The Renewal of Ro beta begins in a few hours, some time after the server bounce on October 4. (Actual beta start time has not been stated.) Those who pre-order the expansion can find further information on how to access the beta server here. As a couple extra Mum notes on the beta:

1. To copy a character over to the beta server you use the /beta command while logged in to your live server character. Make sure to be standing in an overland zone or city when you give the command, and expect that only those items in your bags or in your personal bank will copy over.
2. If you have no characters showing up on the beta server, even though you have performed the /beta command, try creating a level 1 character on beta to see if that forces your character selection list to update.
3. Copies tend to make it over pretty quickly (a few minutes to an hour), but delays are likely on the first day or two of beta, due to extreme player demand. Patiences is a good thing. 4) Beta forums will be available. Please DO use them, and the /bug command when you find an issue. Reporting something on Discord is NOT a substitute for putting it on the forums where it can be properly tracked.

The new Panda, Panda, Panda 2022 article has been started and will be fleshed out as time goes on. Additionally, the new Producer's Letter for September 2022 has been released that includes the information that the next EverQuest II expansion will be called "Renewal of Ro" and that the beta will begin on October 4, 2022.

September 26, 2022 - Pandamonium and GULU

The start of the 2022 round of Panda, Panda, Panda has been announced for tomorrow (Tuesday). The annual Gear Up, Level Up pre-expansion event has also been announced, and double loot from the final bosses in solo and heroic dungeons, and from all raid bosses will begin tomorrow. This is traditionally the start of the busiest time of the year for the team, so while there will likely be many more posts over the next couple of months, there will also likely be an increased level of incoherence for 'Mum, especially as the time draws closer for my Extra Life for Kids charity fundraiser on top of all of the expansion and fall event goodness.
