From hotfix notes today:

• The Advanced Armorer Service quest now requires the new improved version of fulginate kite shields.
• Scholars’ volume 12 books now once again contain recipes for idols, symbols, tomes, and orbs.
• Jeweler Far Seas writs now correctly accept the new secondary items.
• An issue where Adornments would disappear when upgrading or imbuing items through tradeskills has been fixed.

April 02, 2009 - Whoops!

It seems there's an issue with the newest crafting mission, Emergency Portal Repairs, where if you leave the zone and come back later, the dead folks and fuel are not respawning. (Things decay quickly up in the Void, it seems!) There is a fix in the works, so just be aware of this in the short-term when running the crafting missions.

March 31, 2009 - G51 For Real This Time

The long-awaited Lavastorm revamp, complete with solo-friendlier content, a new crafting quest series, etc. is now live. (I think the new crafting mission is also in, but it isn't mentioned in the patch notes.) In addition, a limited-time Bristlebane Day event has gone live. You can find the GU51 Patch Notes here

February 19, 2009 - Preview of a Preview ... Sort Of

Erollisi Day has come and gone, and more seasonal holidays loom on the horizon (Brell & Bristlebane need their days, after all!) Before we dive into any more festivities, though, there's this not-so-little detail of a game update that just hit the Test server. Even ruling out the adventuring side of things (fighter revamp, Lavastorm revamp, solo combat mission, 2-group instance, etc.), there is a lot in it for crafters. It is going to take a solid chunk of time for it to get settled in on Test and for me to do a crafting preview of the new quests, crafted shields and held items revamp, etc. Since I know some folks are impatient/eager, you will want to keep an eye on this thread with Test patch notes and comments for updates until the preview is ready. Other than that, about all I can/will tell you until the preview is done is that the two house items pictured here are part of what I'll be writing about.

February 18, 2009 - Feb 18 Hotfix

Since the first and third of these have relevance to crafters, here are the notes for the hotfix that went in this m*rning:

BROKERS
* Players should no longer get an erroneous message about vendor slots being full when first opening the broker after a fresh login.

ORCISH WASTES
* The Avatar of War will now cast Furious Axe of War at the start of each combat, rather than waiting.

QUESTS / MISSIONS
* An issue that could prevent some players from getting daily missions if they had completed the previous mission has been fixed.

February 05, 2009 - Correction

I posted earlier today that the patch notes were for GU51. However, since they do not contain the fighter revamp (which has been moved back to TBA for scheduling), this is being considered a hotfix instead of a Game Update. The upcoming Lavastorm revamp is now being referred to as GU51.

February 05, 2009 - GU51 Has Arrived

GU51, minus the fighter changes, has arrived. This includes, among other things the new Heirloom tag. A complete copy of the patch notes can be found here.

January 27, 2009 - Sealed With a Kick

This time of year is always a grumpy one for me. The holidays leave me burnt out, real life tends to drop all sorts of nasty surprises when the daylight is in short supply, the cold and wet of this area's rainy season makes my joints say unspeakable things to me, when they even speak to me at all, etc. In general, it is a good time to just let me hibernate in my cave during this time of year. Safer for everyone when I'm not in range of someone/something I can be grumpy at. {nodnod} So, it is rare that I'll crawl out of hibernation and be civil until things warm up and dry out. However, even on my worst days, when chocolate, necessary food group, doesn't even appeal to me, I can be lured out. Ah, the siren call of hard candies and love notes, written by semi-literate critters like undead, gnolls, minotaurs and more. You know the ones I mean - the ones that think they're so smart, at least as far as monsters go. Having a perfectly valid excuse to go all halfling hand grenade on them, blasting them to itty bitty pieces in order to claim those notes and candy for myself ... then crafting with them. Yep, it is that time of year again! The time of year when we here on Earth are dealing with Valentines Day, while Norrathians are having fun with Erollisi Day. Quests & events. And crafting. As usual, I won't be covering the quests and events side of things (do NOT make me come over there and bite you for asking for me to cover it again), as there are other places better suited for it, but I have a crafting preview set up for you. It may read like a certain red-headed, large-footed halfling sealed it with a drop-kick or two, instead of the traditional sealed with a kiss, but it covers the basics for you, and has pretty pictures! Just make sure that you use a lonnnngggg stick if you are going to slide me any chocolate donations, and everything will be ok. I'm likely to become civil just about in time for Brew Day to roll around, but in the meantime, here's the 2009 Erollisi Day Crafting Preview - S.W.A.K.

January 26, 2009 - GU51 Mini-Preview: Heirlooms and More

GU51 is currently on the Test server. While I am awaiting another patch to Test before completing the Erollisi Day part of the preview, I decided to add in a quick preview on some of the other crafting-related features of the upcoming game update. Check out "Parting with Heirlooms" for more information, and stay tuned for the E-Day stuff in the next day or so.

December 12, 2008 - Gallery Additions

On top of linking a Frostfell 2008 Crafted Items gallery into the EQ2TC Furniture Gallery, I have also obtained images of the eight pieces of Glacial furniture that are special token from the Frostfoot vendor after completion of Mission Improbable. While they are not crafted, they also do not have dressing room previews, and I wanted it to be a bit easier for folks to see what it is that they are buying.

December 08, 2008 - Frostfell is NOT Canceled

More than once while playing this weekend, I heard someone mention that they had been told that Frostfell was canceled this year.

My immediate thought, coupled with a bemused headscratch was: "Buh?"

Not one of my more coherent moments, mind you, but definitely one of my more confused ones.

Nasty little rumor.

What is next, I ask? Will you tell me that Santa Glug, pictured above, is nothing but a figment of my imagination?

Lies! Lies!

I have been to the Test server. I have had him hand over prezzies into the greedy hands of several of my alt army over there. I have even gotten excited over a bag of coal! Frostfell is alive and well, I tell you, and arriving on a server near you in a few short days!

Again, let me repeat: Frostfell is NOT Canceled
