Size matters. Don't let anyone tell you differently ... when we're talking about crafted furniture, that is!
I am sure many of us have wished a bookshelf was "just" a bit larger, to fit the taller books, or that one of the moonstone pools was "just" a bit smaller, to fit into a room more properly.
Our wishes are coming true with Game Update 49, which is now on the Test server. Of course, there's a lot more to GU49 than that, too! (Guild halls and so much more!) You can find the crafting tidbits, including screenshots of new furniture in my GU49 Crafting Preview, and you can find what we have for Test patch notes so far in this thread in the forums.
Settle onto a nice comfy set and check it out!

GU48 is here with a lot of items of interest, and Mum is up to her eyeballs in alligators. Rather than make you wait while the Imitrex kicks in, and I get all the relevant guides updated, I'm going to fling this out now, and add in more links later. While you're waiting on the extra links, here are the patch notes for you to nibble on. (Edit: fixed link!)
Updates
This new little lovely has been added to carpenter recipes books, and to the furniture gallery. Boy, could I use a bottle or two right now! :D

Notes from the two "Anything Goes" panels at the Fan Faire can now be found here. I think that means that I am caught up on translating my scribbles into Fan Faire articles. I will go through my notes one more time in the m*rning to be sure.
A couple shots of possible new crafted cloth and leather armor looks have been added to the Tradeskill Panel Notes. More screenshots of the cloth and leather pieces, plus the start of a GU48 preview article will be linked in around mid-day today (Thursday, West Coast U.S. time) after it gets a post-sleep sanity check.
SOE announced several changes to guild hall details already, and I have updated the Guild Hall Preview to make note of them. I'll do a full rewrite of the guide in a few days. (Link fixed - sorry about that!)
Lastly, all of the links for the Fan Faire articles have also been added to the Fan Faire section of the Tradeskill Guides page.
Edit: The GU48 Preview, complete with tons of screenshots (no, that wasn't a fat ogre joke, really!) of the new leather and cloth armor looks is now up! Expect some changes and additions to it late in the weekend or on Monday - Mum's off to celebrate her 10-year wedding anniversary with her beloved hubbyogre!

I am really trying to avoid getting overwhelmed by the volume of information I need to transcribe from hurried notes for everyone, so I have been working on things in chunks. I now have the Fan Faire 2008 Tradeskill Panel Notes in place, as well as a bit more commentary on my personal blog. Expect even more on the blog, as well as a writeup on the Anything Goes panels, "soon". Also expect some pretty screenshots "soon", if the PR/Community folks can get unburied enough to send some.

It is Sunday, I am tired, and not getting home until tomorrow afternoon. However, I have had a little bit of time to type out my notes from the EQ2 Expansion Panel. I will be putting together one for the Tradeskill Panel, but it is likely to be tomorrow before it is ready. In addition, I hope to have a bit of more social chatter on my personal blog in the next day or so, and will link it in once it is done.
You can find my Expansion Notes here. You will also find a couple small notes added to the Guild Hall writeup.

I'm running around like a crazed redhead here at Fan Faire, but took a break from the panels to put together the information that came from the Guild Hall preview. Wheee! I'm very excited. I won't have screenshots or other art assets to go with it for a few days, but without further ado, here is a Guild Hall Preview hot off the presses from Fan Faire 2008!

The Rares by Adventuring Class series is now complete. Check out the newly-added guides for Fighters and Scouts. (There have also been minor tweaks to Priests and Mages. Nudge Mum in the forums if you see any issues with these, as I did a lot of cutting and pasting to save myself some time.
Are you headed to the SOE Fan Faire next weekend? Mum has put together a few helpful hints that might make the trip, and the Faire, a bit more enjoyable.

It is summer. I am slow-moving. However, I finally put together the second of the four rare guides for adventurers. This one covers a tier-by-tier breakdown of the rares needed by mages if they need mastercrafted gear or adepts. You can find the "Rares by Adventuring Class: Mages" guide here.

I will be editing this today with more linkage, but wanted something up on the front page in the meantime. Game Update 47 has been released and you can find the patch notes here If you need more explanation of the crafting-related stuff, especially before I get the red glowie page updated, the faction clothing page updated, etc., check out the GU47 Crafting Preview that I put up last week.
Updates:
- A quest writeup for the level 60 Senior Crafter Service quest is now up, and will be updated with more information shortly.
- Two new red glowie collections (not one) have been found for those with their Solstice Earring. Check out the Red Glowie Collection page for more details. Pics of the second item should also be up soon.

We have had information on rare resources here for quite a long time. However, it has not always been as adventurer-friendly as some would like. I have put together charts specifically for priests, listing the rares they need in every tier. Check it out here. Over the next few days, I hope to have up similar charts for other adventuring types as well.

A bonus xp weekend has been announced for this weekend, July 26-27. I am assuming that, as usual, it will include bonus xp for crafting as well as adventuring. Enjoy!

Game Update 47 has been on the Test Server for about a week now, and Mum finally has a crafting preview ready for all you fabulous folks! Without further ado, here is your GU47 Crafting Preview. When a release date is published, I will post here.
Update #1, July 24. The crafted armor and jewelry stat revamp has been delayed until GU48 to hammer out some questions about progression. This announcement can be found in the SOE forums, along with word that faction rewards for city crafting writs (just your home city, NOT the RoK crafting writs) will be increased with GU48.

Are you going to be at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend and/or do you live in the San Diego area? If so, don't forget to check out SOE's 3rd Annual Block Party, with special guest, comic book artist Jim Lee. I hope to see some of you there!

The computer problems are finally resolved, and I am going to be playing catch-up on all the outstanding items that need tackling around here as time and energy permit.
For today, some minor updates were made to the red glowie collection information, providing any information I have on specific areas within zones that seem likely to contain them. Also, the GU46 furniture has been added to the appropriate sections of the Furniture Gallery, including a new section for Dividers. Other than that, my fabulous volunteers are helping add item and recipe information to the database, based on changes and additions made via the last several game updates.

You might have noticed that it has been a bit quieter than usual around here, and very little has been done with the site in the last couple of weeks.
Not only are some of our fabulous volunteers on vacation and such, but Mum has been troubled by computer problems with her new computer that have made it difficult to get anything done work-wise, much less play-wise. (Rebooting at the drop of a hat, any hat, is not really condusive to creating/editing furniture pages, logging recipe and item info in-game, doing data entry, etc.) The final wipe and restore to the factory install was the final straw, and I am not reinsalling anything on this computer until not only has the technician replaced the graphic card that I have been suggesting is the problem all along, but I have spent a day noodling around the web. Until I am 100% positive that it is not going to reboot repeatedly, again, am I installing anything, as the next suggestion I am going to have to the Dell techs is that they admit it is a lemon and replace the whole thing so I can finally get something productive done!
Bleargh. I wonder if it accidentally falling from my second floor home office to the concrete walk would be covered under warranty? ...

The update notes are still not up on the patcher, nor on the SOE forums. While you are waiting for the final details, have you checked out the GU46 crafting preview? This post will be updated with the proper information once the patch notes are found.
Update: Full patch notes are now available. I am not going to re-summarize these, as the folks who want to know the information will read the above links, and the ones that don't ... won't. :)
I would also like to mention that if all goes well, at 7 Pacific this evening (Tuesday, May 17), I will be a special guest on a podcast for the Jethal Silverwing Show. If anyone wants to listen in, point your browser at http://live.onlinegamingradio.com/ogr.m3u, and it should let you fire up Windows Media player, or whatever your favorite media player is, to listen in. (And if you've the extra time, that same link is good for EQ2's-day from 4-7 pm Pacific!)

Jethal stopped by to ask folks about their favorite gaming song. If you'd like to provide feedback, the survey is over on the Kithicor.org forums. In a related note, consider this your early warning that, if all goes well, Mum will be on Jethal's Tuesday night podcast in a couple days.

GU46 was patched to the Test server yesterday. A you might suspect, Mum and Kaisha were over on the Test server. While we may have lost Kaisha to the World Event being tested over there, I managed to bring back a GU46 Crafting Preview for folks. Enjoy!
P.S. Please show your moral support for all the fabulous fan sites out there, and remember to vote daily in EQ2-guild's favorite fan site poll. I'm not asking for votes for the site, I'm asking for votes for any site you love. For all that, vote for a different one each day, if you can't make up your mind. But do vote, please, to show the sites that their efforts have not gone unrecognized.

A few weeks ago, we were proud to announce that we'd made it onto a favorite fan site poll over at . The results are in from that poll, and you can find them here. Wow! However, there wasn't any real logical breakdown to the categories for that poll, simply breaks due to the number of items that polling site would allow in each poll, and it made the voting kind of rough. They are now running a new poll with all the sites in one big list, and you can vote here. They are also asking for feedback on how future fan site polls should be run, and you can cast your vote for that here.
Meanwhile, on the home front, we're still chipping away at the GU45 weapon information for the database, and I hope to get a bit more out of the way before GU46 hits Test. (Check out this thread for an early preview of the crafting stuff that may make it in with GU46.

In the juggling around to get some variety in the 2HB weapons, an accidental duplication of stats happened. Rather than mess up anyone who already has one of these weapons, the sledgehammer recipes will be retired with the next GU, to be replaced with a sledge recipe. Domino provides a bit more detail in this post in the SOE forums:
It seems that somehow the sledgehammer and war mace ended up with the exact same stats (str/sta/int, 2h crushing, 6 delay). Since a bit more diversity would be welcome, and since a str/wis 2h crushing weapon seemed to be lacking, the sledgehammer recipe is going to be removed from weaponsmith recipe books with GU46 and will be replaced instead with a "sledge" recipe that will make a str/wis 2h crushing 6 delay weapon (with the same graphic the sledgehammer had).
Any sledgehammers already out there in the world will remain unchanged, they just won't be craftable any more; folks who want those stats can get the war mace.
Just an FYI for y'all, and as usual, these changes will be showing up on Test when it's updated with the GU46 stuff, so feel free to head on over and check out the details! :D
